I had the pleasure of speaking to Natasha Fong from the Mindful AI podcast a few months back. Recently, the episode was posted across channels. Here’s the video if you’d like to dive straight in.
In the episode itself, Natasha and I traverse numerous topics that relate to responsible AI development and use. What I hoped to do was cover some of the path less travelled, especially considering:
The broader system context within which AI is developed and used
The challenges we face in the context of growthism, and the impact that may well have on our capacity to responsibly develop and use AI systems
The myriad challenges practitioners face within organisations given the authorising environments boards and executive committees create
Little bits on bobs of ontology and epistemology, specifically in relation to the huge n dimensional hyperspace of what we don’t currently know (and maybe cannot know…)
Plus some other goodies
This was grounded in the usual stuff on trust and trustworthiness, which is core to my direct inquiry into this space.
If you’re open to listening, deliberating and engaging in discourse, please comment away! I trust this can add to conversations we are already having, or perhaps help us start new ones.
Until then.
